If you think you’ve not encountered this situation at least once in your life before, think again. You might just be in denial!

We’ve all had that “don’t laugh!” monologue one too many times before. Psychologists around the world confirm that laughing at inappropriate moments is actually a psychological response to anxiety and tension. Our body has the tendency to make us start laughing to relieve the tension happening within, even when we really want to be serious.
We bet you’ve faced these types of awkward situations before but have you thought of ways to avoid them? Well, if you haven’t, we have! Here’s 5 ways you can try (your level best) to avoid similar encounters in the future.
1. Think of something that makes you REALLY ANGRY
Our body understands reflexes and it always responds to what we think. Hence, if you think that you shouldn’t be laughing at a certain moment, try to divert or distract your mind to think of other moments, like what made you angry last week. That way, you wouldn’t find yourself laughing AND you automatically escape the awkward situation!
2. Never, ever look at the person who makes EVERYTHING funny!
3. PRETEND to sneeze, continuously!
4. Run! To the loo!
5. You know what? Just LAUGH IT OFF!
Life’s too short to think if you should or should not laugh. Just laugh it off because stress isn’t good for us anyway! If it puts you in trouble, blame it on Psychology.
Try them, test them. Let us know if they work, or better still, let us know what other tips you have!
