During this blessed Ramadhan month, we have to think, not just about ourselves, but about unsung heroes like the police, firefighters, etc. They can be summoned for duty any time, sometimes even missing out on sahur and/or iftar.

Images of several firefighters who stopped by the roadside after carrying out their duties to “buka puasa” went viral after it was posted on the Friends of Bomba Malaysia Facebook page.

The group of Fire and Rescue Department personnel stopped by a deserted road after putting out a fire. The picture showed that the firefighters were having a rather simple meal after carrying out prayers with their uniform as mats.

The caption of the post wrote: “Ramadan is not only about enduring hunger and thirst. Ramadan is the time when we manage ourselves, because when we fast, only He and ourselves know the moments when we stay true to ourselves,”

The post also prompted other firefighters to share their own experiences during Ramadhan.

Have a blessed Ramadhan month everyone!
