Lady Gaga gave a rather emotional message to the audience upon receiving her award for Best Pop Duo for ‘Shallow’, from the movie ‘A Star Is Born’.

An almost teary Gaga said this:

“I gotta thank God thank you for looking out for me, thank you for my family at home, I love you. If I don’t get another chance to say this, I just want to proud to be part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They’re so important. A lot of artists deal with that and we gotta take care of each other. If you see somebody that’s hurting, don’t look away. If you’re hurting, try to find that bravery within yourself to go deep and take somebody up in your head with you.”

Gaga won the award for her duet with Bradley Cooper, in the same category, which also saw Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato being nominated. She also took home awards for Best Song For Visual Media for ‘Shallow’ and for Best Pop Vocal Performance for ‘Joanne’ too.

The news of the win came just hours after Gaga won a BAFTA Award for original music at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London, making the pop star the first person to win a BAFTA and a Grammy in the same day.

In case you didn’t know, ‘Shallow’ also won an award for Best Original Song at the 2019 Golden Globes last month.

“I just have to say, as a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a musician and a songwriter,” Gaga also said on stage. “These three incredible men… they lifted me up and supported me … Bradley, I love you.”

Aww, we’re all shedding happy tears. Way to go, Gaga!
