Eugene the Egg, The Record Holding Egg, has finally HATCHED!

Since its first post in the first week of January, the egg had been cracking little by little and people have been wondering what was the purpose of the attention it was seeking. Finally on February 2nd, Eugene was published donning a set of football laces with the caption, “The wait is over.”

The mystery of the egg was revealed after the launch of the Super Bowl and was published later on its Instagram account, @world_record_egg on February 4th.

The egg, whose account was created by a London based advertising creative, was actually a representation of the members of society, calling people to address mental health. Whoa, who would’ve thought?

Eugene was given a face and a voice with which it introduced itself and explained how it started to crack under the world’s attention. It finally broke, identifying the pressure of social media as the cause.

After it suggests talking to someone when stressed, the egg reforms without cracks and smiles. It also urged people to do the same, when they’re stressed.

Eugene the egg went viral on social media early this year after beating Kylie Jenner’s record of 18 million likes for a photo on Instagram.

It has now received over 52 million likes and it hatched for a good cause!

We wonder if there will be more from Eugene the egg, but one thing’s for sure… we can never see an egg the same anymore.
