Many pet owners see their pets as their own children and when something unpleasant happens to them, nothing can calm them down.
For a 24-year-old woman however, things escalated as she had to immediately choose between her dear cat and her boyfriend. She revealed that she has had Millie since she was a kitten but it became a problem when she learnt that her boyfriend couldn’t stand her cat as he’s more of a dog person.
When they decided to move in together, he asked if she would consider giving Millie away, which took her by surprise. Feeling guilty about being unwilling to compromise, she said that she would not give her cat away in any circumstance… to which Mr Boyfriend said it was okay and that he’d learn to live with a cat.

They were a happy “family” until she witnessed an unpleasant incident one evening.
The 30 year-old boyfriend came home and without realising she was home as well, he said “You’re so f***** worthless”, to Millie.
She admitted that she was terrified as she has never heard him speak like that to anyone so she rushed from the kitchen to see what was happening and realised that her boyfriend said those words to her kittie, who was just sitting on the couch.
She immediately picked up the cat and asked the man to leave the apartment. Her boyfriend returned some time later and admitted that he often called her mean names but it was just being “playfully mean”. He said that he may have been misjudged. He felt awful that the woman chose a cat over him and he confessed to always feeling second best to Millie.
She expressed how much she cares for him and apologised for being rude, as well as for making him feel like the apartment wasn’t his home. She later took it to Reddit to ask for people’s opinion on her decision.
