A Twitter user from Japan named Daiki Shimizu developed an amazing app that enables you to calculate the amount of sugar in your drink, just by scanning the packaging’s bar code.

This sounds interesting but is actually quite scary! Are we ready to find out how much sugar we’ve actually been ‘drinking’ all our life?!

Daiki’s video went viral with over 18,000 retweets and over 60,000 likes, after which he said that the app is not available on app stores yet and is still waiting for approval.

However, the app currently only has the Japanese language option and tells you the sugar content in beverages sold in Japan only.

Well, it would come in handy if you’re planning to travel in Japan at least!
