The scary part is, that it all happened through cell phone calls. All it takes is just a few minutes, for victims to lose all their savings.

These days, fraud cases and scams through phone calls are done in extremely creative ways. Scammers go as far as disguising themselves as the authorities and posing as police officers and bank officials, to try and scare you into handing over your money.

Though there are some applications to detect and filter these red-flagged numbers, it is evident that the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option is the easiest and most effective of all!

Here are the basic steps to turn on the ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode:

For iPhone:

For Android:

• On Android 9 (Pie), Go to "Sound" then turn on "Do Not Disturb." Like the iPhone, you can set exceptions for options, like your Contacts.
