The official Game of Thrones account tweeted the news, and based on George R.R. Martin’s 2018 book ‘Fire and Blood’, the project will be set 300 years before the events in the popular series took place.

Woohoo! It’s said that the prequel will cover the story of the House of Targaryen over about 10 episodes. The show will primarily be filmed in England.
While Miguel Sapochnik has been confirmed as the director, the full cast has yet to be revealed. What we do know is that Paddy Considine will play King Viserys Targaryen as announced in October.
Here’s how the Twitter-verse is reacting to the news!
Yay another series we can love for 4 seasons until the money becomes more important and the story gets destroyed in the final two. Woohoo

Well, I, personally, love the dragons. I miss GOT. I am looking forward to this. I imagine it will be a whole new set of characters. I'd love if all of the previous actors were re-hired to portray their ancestors. (Sigh) I've missed GOT.
