Aah, laziness.. Procrastination, our old friends.

We’ve been familiarized with the work-from-home (WFH) situation early this year and while we are already used to the term, some of us are too comfortable in our homes that we just can’t get work done!

To those of you who are struggling to keep things together while WFH, here’s some tips for you to do it more efficiently!

Get DRESSED!

Yes! Pretend like you ARE going to the office. Well, you are working so treat the day like one. Start your day early, just like how you would on a normal working day and feel fresh when you sit in front of your laptop. We get that whole ‘comfortable at home’ thing, but that comfort is only going to make you … lazier! Working in pjs is such a mood? Maybe not.

Plan Your Working Hours!

We know that we’re home 24/7 (almost) but that shouldn’t give anyone the liberty to throw work at you as they wish. Keep clearly defined working hours and if it’s past your working hours, explain to your colleagues well in advance that you will attend to them the next day (unless it is urgent, of course).

We all know how burned out one can get, if you keep working and responding to emails all day long.

Have a PROPER Work-space!

No, don’t work on your bed. Stop giving yourself excuses like ‘this chair is not comfortable’. If you can sit in the office from 9-5, you can do it at home as well. Having a proper work-space allows you to focus better because you get distractions out of your way.

Decorate your workspace a little or just get a calming candle so you can at least inhale your favourite smell while responding to that one annoying colleague.

Take a BREAK!

Break time is essential. Just like when you’re in the office, take a break for lunch and tea time if you need to. You can dive into your social media updates and notifications during this time. If you find it hard to stay away from your social media, you might want to consider removing your social media accounts from your browser so that you don’t get triggered to click on it.

We find these tips to be very helpful, for us at least! Do you have any other tips? Feel free to share with us!
