[UPDATE]

So, after hours of Facebook's family of social app being down, Instagram is back in action and they took it to Twitter with a gif!
Anddddd... we're back. pic.twitter.com/5E8UdlcsPJ

However, netizens don't really seem impressed and some of them still can't load the page. Look at how they responded.
And it only took you twelve hours. Congrats. pic.twitter.com/voY6lNaLdH

Hmm, looks like Instagram's got to work on it again. It's alright, one at a time, people.
Breathe. Is your social app working now?
[END OF UPDATE]
It’s a dark and gloomy day for those who woke up to no social media notifications this morning. Users were reporting difficulties accessing Facebook and Instagram, which have been down for hours for many since last night.
This comes shortly after Google’s suite of productivity services were plagued by similar issues yesterday.
Whatsapp is also reportedly affected by the outage, but only in certain countries.
Facebook itself tweeted to inform users about the issue, and as usual the Twitterverse was not having it.
Facebook also tweeted that “the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.”
We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.
— Facebook (@facebook) March 13, 2019
Users across the globe have been flooding Twitter (clearly it’s the ONLY way to connect right now) with their frustrations and comments about the issue. It looks like Facebook is the only platform that is fully inaccessible (for now) while Whatsapp and Instagram are still usable, but certain functions like posting pictures and sending files is still said to be wonky.
For now, here’s some hilarious tweets from users while you ‘patiently’ wait for these apps to function again…
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Wife: Oh, no. You'll have to interact with people in person.
Me: No. There's still Twitter.
