Have you ever had second thoughts to drive out anywhere just because you know it’ll be a hassle to find a parking spot?
Our worries have been heard!
Finding a parking spot will not be as annoying (hopefully) with the Penang Smart Parking (PSP) system which will be officially available next month, more specifically, on August 18th 2019.

So how it works is that you need to download and subscribe to the app and you’ll be notified when there are available parking spots. Cool right? The rates for parking has been set as 40 cents per hour on the mainland and 80 cents per hour on the island.
The app also accepts e-wallet fare payments!
The local government, housing and country planning committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said that the system will be rolled out to the whole state in phases, as Penang curently has a total of 36,000 parking lots.
And did you know that the app will also notify you if you did not pay for the parking? Yup!
No more ‘just for a little while’ excuses.
We feel it would definitely come in handy on our ‘I need a parking spot right now’ days!
