Imagine bringing your kids to the zoo in hopes of showing the animals we don’t normally see in the neighbourhood and your child goes, “look papa, a doggo”. Would you be taken aback?
We’re pretty sure you would because what’s a dog even doing behind bars?
This zoo in Sichuan, China deceived visitors by placing a golden retriever instead of an actual African lion.
A video was shared by a netizen showing an adult golden retriever in the ‘cage’, it even had a harness on. The clip soon went viral on Chinese social media and people started commenting on the absurdity of the incident.
When asked about it, a zoo staff member explained that the place initially had a lion in it, but due to some accommodation rearrangement, things might have looked a little misleading. Also, they added the signboards were yet to be switched. Hmm..
The video owner, Tang, didn't buy it and accused the zoo of false advertising and wrongly prompting the place. He was disappointed that his plans on showing his kids some interesting animals was totally ruined. We feel you, Mr Tang.
And we’d like to clarify something here… not all animals with a mane can pass as a lion.
We hope they solve the issue soon. What are your thoughts on this?
