WFH Has Saved The Government Millions

The government has saved more than 7.3 million ringgit in petrol subsidy expenditure, since the work from home initiative for civil servants started in April.

The Chief Secretary to the Government says it has also helped reduce over four million liters in fuel consumption.

He adds that a total of 659 thousand civil servants have benefited from the initiative.

The Election Commission has no plans at the moment to change its procedures banning the use of mobile phones at polling streams.

It says existing control mechanisms are still sufficient. 

This, following reports that photos of marked ballot papers had been shared on social media, during the recent Johor state election.

In a related development, the EC is conducting a study on the proposed implementation of domestic postal voting across the Peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak.

The Transport Ministry says there’ve been fewer train breakdowns over the past four years.

It says excluding the monorail, we went from 117 train failures in 2022 to just 28 last year.

12 breakdowns have also been reported so far this year…with Rapid Rail hoping to maintain the downward trend.
