Govt Mulls Cabin Cams For E-Hailing Cars

E-hailing vehicles may soon be required to be equipped with in-car cameras.

The Transport Ministry says this is one of the proposals being studied to protect drivers from passenger violence, amid a recent rise in such cases.

However, it says the matter needs to be studied carefully so as not to infringe on passenger privacy.

In a separate development, the Ministry says the LRT3 line is ready to begin operations by the end of the month, with the official launch date to be announced soon.

The over 37 kilometer-long line traverses the western Klang Valley connecting Bandar Utama in PJ to Johan Setia in Klang.
