PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to discuss recent forest fires in parts of Kalimantan and Sumatera.  

He says the fires, which triggered transboundary haze, requires consensus and joint action.  

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the BRICS Leaders Summit in India.  

This, 5 areas in Sarawak reported unhealthy air quality this morning.  

Meanwhile, Johan Setia, Selangor was the only place in the Peninular with an API reading of over 100.  

Also, as the Sarawak govt says most schools in the state will reopen tomorrow.  

However, schools in the districts of Serian and Lubok Antu will remain closed until the API there falls below 200.

In related news, the Higher Education Ministry says it’s continuously monitoring how the haze is affecting Malaysian students in Indonesia.  

For now, the ministry has not received any reports of health issues among our students there.

The Health Ministry will soon announce the number of residents affected by the temporary suspension of the Flying Doctor Service in Sarawak.  

Its Director General says officials have already collected data on how it affects residents’ follow-up medical services, and it will soon be sent to the minister for further action.  

Flying Doctor Services in Sarawak were put on hold, after the recent helicopter crash that killed the pilot and four medical staff.

In related news, the remains of the five victims have been handed over to their respective families.  

This, after their identities were confirmed through DNA analysis.
