Malaysia Is Still Short On Oncologists

Malaysia is still facing a shortage of oncologists.

The Health Ministry says that while we’ve seen a 60 percent increase in the number of these cancer specialists over the past six years, it is still not enough to meet the increasingly complex care demands of patients.

This, as cancer remains the third leading cause of death in the country, with about 40,000 new cases recorded every year.

Malaysia is open to new technology from any corner of the world. 

However, the Prime Minister assured that we will make the final decision on how the technology is used. 

He explained that while we need to be actively involved in things like AI…we will not let any other company or country decide how our data is governed, how Artificial Intelligence is used in our public institutions and how new tech is introduced into the lives of Malaysians.

Padang Terap in Kedah is currently under a Level 2 heatwave alert…with expected temperatures of between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.

According to the Met Department, a further 16 localities across Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Selangor, Sabah and Sarawak are under the less severe Level One advisory.
