MCMC assures it's keeping tabs on complaints from WhatsApp users, whose accounts were either hacked, blocked or became inaccessible.

The commission adds it is in contact with social media giant Meta over the matter.  

It explained that hacked accounts and blocked accounts are not necessarily the same thing...

It’s because compromised accounts may later be suspended after being used for scams, spam or other violations.

MCMC also says that affected users should first use WhatsApp's official recovery channels.

However, they can approach MCMC for further assistance if their case remains unresolved.
