The Defense Ministry will tighten safety measures for grenade training.

This, after an investigation into last month's fatal explosion at a military camp in Kedah.  

The ministry says the measures will be implemented to reduce the risk of similar incidents recurring.

Earlier, officials revealed that the explosion occurred after the safety lever of the grenade was released before the throw was completed.  

Investigations found that the grenade had been activated while it was still near the upper bodies of the victims.  

Two army personnel were killed in the explosion.

The government will continue negotiations with the US over a new 10% tariff imposed on Malaysia.  

The Prime Minister says the talks will be led by the Investment, Trade, and Industry Ministry.  

However, the PM reassured that the tariff is relatively low compared with many other countries.  

Earlier, President Donald Trump announced new tariffs of up to 12.5% on goods from 60 trading partners, including Malaysia.  

The measure comes amid allegations that affected nations failed to implement forced labor bans.
