More Hot Weather Coming Soon

Met Malaysia says the Southwest Monsoon is expected to start this Thursday, and will last until September.

Malaysians can expect more hot and dry weather during this period, as well as a higher risk of local and transboundary haze.

As such, Met Malaysia is reminding the public to avoid open burning during this season, and to use water wisely.

However, heavy rain and thunderstorms can still occur, especially along the west coast of the Peninsular.

The EPF is stepping up efforts to enhance retirement security and financial resilience across generations.

As such, it's introduced the i-Legasi and i-Emas schemes.

i-Legasi will allow members to transfer a portion of their EPF savings to the accounts of immediate family members upon reaching full withdrawal age.

Meanwhile, the current monthly payment option has been rebranded as i-Emas.

Under i-Emas, instead of withdrawing savings in full, members can opt for automated monthly payments.

This way, the remaining balance can continue earning annual dividends.

He adds that the priority is to avoid sudden shocks to people who may still need support, or are not ready for the transition...

As such, the govt is looking at several areas before the adjustment is finalized, including income level and petrol consumption levels.
