2021 school term extended to February 2022!

Sep 13, 2021

Pengoperasian sekolah: Hanya 50 peratus kehadiran murid dalam kelas, kurangkan risiko penularan - Radzi Jidin

The 2021 school term will be extended to February next year!

Education Minister Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin says the current school year will pick up from where it has left after the school break in December and students will only move on to the next class in March 2022.

Due to the extension, Year One students for the 2022 term will start school in March 2022.

The Minister adds that schools are not to take disciplinary action against students, if their parents or guardians choose not to send them to school.

However, the school must be informed of the students' absence for recordkeeping purposes.

The Education Ministry will begin reopening schools in stages beginning on October 3, with most institutions to remain shut in states under Phases 1 and 2.

In Phase 3 and 4, more schools will be allowed to open but the majority may only do so on a rotational basis with classes split into two groups that attend school on alternating weeks.

Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Sarawak are in Phase 3 while only Labuan is in Phase 4.

The government says the SOPs for the approved use includes providing disposal gloves for customers to use.
