The government has relaxed more regulations for several employment and economic sectors, with the changes to take effect tomorrow.

For states under Phase One of the National Recovery Plan, businesses like photography and tobacco shops, as well as nurseries and florists are allowed to open, provided vaccination conditions are met.

As for states under Phase Two…private offices are allowed to operate at a higher capacity, based on the number of vaccinated employees.

Outdoor and indoor sports and physical contact recreational activities will be allowed for states under Phases Two and Three.

This includes team sports for those who are fully vaccinated.

There’s also good news for parents…kindergartens, day care centers and nurseries will be allowed to open in Phases One and Two…as long as operators and workers are fully vaccinated.

A recent survey of parents has found that a majority of them agree with the reopening of physical classes at schools and higher learning institutions.

The Prime Minister says this is mainly because these families faced challenges in adapting to home based teaching and learning.

The virtual survey earlier this year was conducted by the National Population and Family Development Board.

The government is targeting for 60 percent of teenagers between the ages of 12 and 17 to get at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by November.

Its also hoping for 80 percent of them to be fully vaccinated before schools open for the 2022 session.

The Deputy Health Minister says 16 and 17-year-olds who are sitting for public exams and those with comorbidities would be given priority to receive the vaccine.

422 Covid-19 deaths were reported nationwide yesterday.

According to the Health Ministry’s data…five of these were new fatalities, while the rest were backlog cases that were previously unreported.
