58 new Omicron variant cases detected

58 more Omicron infections have been detected in Malaysia.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says this brings the total number of cases to 122.

Of the total number of reported cases, 58.2% are Umrah pilgrims.

Some 12,000 people are currently at flood relief centres in 7 states.

Johor remains the worst-hit state with more than 5 thousand evacuees.

Meanwhile, there are over 2 thousand flood victims in Sabah.

The other evacuees are in Melaka, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Terengganu.

Dangerous conditions around rivers in 5 states | Astro Awani

Several rivers in Pahang, Johor, Terengganu, Selangor and Melaka have breached danger levels following continuous rain.

As such, the Drainage and Irrigation Department is urging people to be on the alert for floods.

It also issued warnings for other rivers coded orange, and caution alerts in those states as well as in Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak and Sabah.
