Govt Clamps Down On Energy Stick Ads

Feb 08, 2024

govt clamps down on energy stick ads

The Health Ministry will clamp down on ads promoting the sale of Energy Stick nasal inhalants.

According to its director general, it's because the product is not officially registered as a health product under the ministry.

And because health sticks are unregistered, traders selling them can face a maximum penalty of a RM25,000 fine and 3 years jail.

The ministry said this amid complaints that these energy sticks were being marketed to children.

The Court of Appeal has rejected the prosecution's appeal against the acquittal of a woman and her two children, over the murder of Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan in 2018.

The appellate court maintained the High Court's earlier ruling that the prosecution failed to prove its case against them.

Authorities have ended search efforts for those who were still missing following yesterday's water surge at a river in Bidor, Perak.

This is after the bodies of the final two victims were found this morning.

This means 4 victims are confirmed to have died, while 3 others survived.
