hot spell: is cloud seeding the best solution?

Cloud seeding is one option that can be taken to help bring down temperatures during the current hot spell.  

However, MetMalaysia says there is no guarantee that it will bring rain.  

Nor Azam Shaari, from its Atmospheric Science and Cloud Seeding division says its success depends on several factors, including if there are suitable clouds in the sky.

Cloud seeding is also expensive.

The Federal Court has unanimously upheld the murder conviction and sentence of the youth involved in the 2017 Tahfiz school fire in Kg Datuk Keramat, KL in 2017.  

He was accused of killing 23 people in the incident.  

The appellant, who was a teenager at the time of the time of the fire, was ordered to be detained at the pleasure of the Yang-di-Pertuan Agong.

Selangor's Kuala Kubu Bharu state assemblywoman Lee Kee Hiong has passed away at the age of 58 after a battle with cancer 

The DAP rep was serving her third term in office, after she retained her seat in last year's state election.

- The Johor government has announced special Aidilfitri aid of half a month's salary, or at least RM1,500 for state civil servants. 

- The Transport Ministry has launched its e-Dereg system, which allows motorists to cancel the registrations of their old vehicles online.  

- Selangor police are looking for the owner of a suitcase that contained half a million ringgit in cash, after the bag was left at the car park of a shopping mall in Damansara. 

- And according to Bukit Aman police, just over 1,800 road accidents were reported nationwide yesterday, with 18 fatalities.
