Beaufort in Sabah…Hulu Perak in Perak and the whole of Perlis have been placed under a level two heatwave alert.

These areas can expect daily temperatures of between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Met Malaysia has also placed 29 other localities across Sarawak, Sabah, Kedah, Pahang, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor have been placed under a level one alert…where temperatures could hit as high as 37 degrees.

In a related development, the Armed Forces is prepared to help the Met Department with cloud seeding operations.

The Defense Ministry, however, says there’ve been no requests for such operations thus far.

More than 7.3 million Malaysians have updated their information on the PADU database.

The Chief Statistician says he expects more registrations, as we approach the March 31st deadline.

A mathematics teacher in Selangor is being investigated for allegedly having a relationship with one of her 17-year-old students.

Cops say the incident – which is said to have occurred in December – is being probed under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act.
