The public is being urged to keep a close eye on official weather forecasts and alerts.

The Civil Defense Force says this is to prepare for the possibility of sudden changes in weather, amid the ongoing monsoon transition phase.

Meanwhile, some 1,400 Civil Defense Force personnel have been deployed nationwide, to help with fallen tree incidents, road accidents and minor damage repairs during the Hari Raya break.

Speaking of the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration…the Malaysian Highway Authority says traffic flow along major expressways is heavy but under control…as people start making their way back to their hometowns.

The police are advising the public to ignore calls from unidentified callers, to avoid falling victim to phone scams.

The CCID director says banks also need to play their part, by improving the way they communicate with their customers over the phone, especially when it comes to verifying identity.

This because the current practice of asking for a customer’s MyKad details…is similar to what scammers use to trick their victims.

The IGP says the investigation paper involving the UMNO Youth Chief in connection with the controversial socks issue will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s chambers this coming week for further action.

Rapid Rail says the women’s coach service along the Putrajaya MRT Line will begin tomorrow, with pink stickers put up to help passengers identify the affected coaches.
