There’s been a significant drop in Covid-19 cases nationwide.

The Health Ministry says there were just 493 infections reported for the week ending April 6th…compared to the 17 thousand plus cases recorded earlier this year.

Nevertheless, the ministry is urging Malaysians to remain vigilant, especially over the holidays.

This includes taking the usual precautions like self-testing and masking up in public spaces if you have symptoms.

More than 40 buses have been taken off the roads, for failing safety inspections ahead of the balik kampung travel period.

The JPJ says these were from a total of nearly 3,800 express buses that were inspected at over 80 depots and terminals nationwide.

The Department adds that its undercover officers also managed to detect 62 cases of driver misconduct or dangerous driving.

Meta and TikTok have pledged to take measures to ensure the safety of children on the social media platforms…after a meeting with the Communications Ministry.

The social media providers were also notified of the government’s plans to come up with better laws and guidelines to govern online safety.
