Malaysia has hit a new record number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in a day.

Yesterday, more than 150,000 doses were given, with some 70% of doses given to first-time recipients.

This also means that the National Immunisation Program has reached its target of 150,000 daily doses this month.

So far, almost 3.8 million doses have been administered nationwide.

Selangor announces new COVID-19 stimulus package

Additional financial aid is set to be distributed to Selangor residents who've been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, as the state government announced a new stimulus package worth over half a billion ringgit.

Among its initiatives include a RM500 one-off payment to persons with disabilities, as well as one-off cash aid to families of deceased COVID-19 patients.

New COVID-19 cases back to 6k

Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases has risen past the 6,000 mark.

The Health Ministry reported 6,239 infections today, with 2,291 cases detected in Selangor alone.

KL had the second-most cases, ahead of Negeri Sembilan, and Johor.

Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 3,611 after 75 patients succumbed to the virus.
