Rising BNPL Use Among Youth A Cause For Concern

The Finance Ministry is concerned by the high number of young Malaysians making use of buy-now-pay-later schemes.

This, as figures showed that 40 percent of such purchases in the country were made by those under the age of 30.

It says that while BNPL still accounts for only a small portion of the country’s household debt…its rapidly-rising use among younger consumers may be a sign that they’re struggling with low wages.
