Hosts and defending champions Qatar have reached the final of the Asian Cup, after a 3-2 victory over Iran.

They will next play underdogs Jordan for the title on Saturday.

Qatar are bidding to become only the second team since Japan in the early 2000’s to win back to back Asian Cup titles.

Chelsea have recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Aston Villa, in their FA Cup fourth round replay this morning.

The win will come as a major relief for Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino, who’s under fire after back-to-back defeats in the league left them sitting 11th in the EPL standings.

-

Nigeria have made the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a 4-2 penalty shootout win over South Africa.

Ivory Coast also advanced, after beating Congo 1-0 in the other semifinal.

-

Nur Dhabitah Sabri and Wendy Ng have missed out on a place at the Paris Olympics in the women’s 3m springboard synchro event.

This, after the national divers came in ninth at the ongoing World Aquatics Championships, where only the top four get to advance to the Paris Games.

Both Dhabitah and Wendy, however, will have one last chance to book an Olympic spot when they participate in the 3m springboard individual event at the World Championships later tonight.
