The ban on spectators at the Tokyo Olympics due to the Coronavirus, is good for the environment.

Environmentalists believe this year’s Games has the potential to be the greenest in decades thanks to absent crowds.

The Tokyo Games was initially estimated to generate over 2.7 million tonnes of planet-warming carbon dioxide, but that number has since dropped.

Although the decision was made as a coronarivus safety measure, environmentalists hope it will set the green standard for future games.
