National cyclist Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri has ended Malaysia’s 12-year gold drought in the women’s keirin event at the Asian track cycling championships!

This, after she won the event at this year’s edition...topping the podium ahead of a rider from China...while another Malaysian - Anis Amira Rosidi took the bronze.

Nurul Izzah is only the second Malaysian woman cyclist after Fatehah Mustapa to win the keirin gold medal in Asian championships history.

Liverpool are the winners of the 2024 EFL Cup!

This, after they defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the final last night.

The match saw Virgil van Dijk score the winning goal deep into extra time, to give the Reds their first trophy of the season.

As for Chelsea...the Blues have now failed to win a domestic title since 2018.

Over in La Liga action, Real Madrid have opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the standings after edging past Sevilla 1-0.

And, Barcelona boss Xavi says he stands by his decision to leave the club at the end of the season, despite the Catalan club enjoying a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
