US-Iran Peace Talks Collapse - JD Vance

 

US vice president JD Vance says America has failed to reach a deal with Iran to end their war.  

The talks, brokered by Pakistan, focused on points including the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear programme.  

Meanwhile, Tehran said it came to the talks with an open mind, but the US must refrain "from excessive demands and unlawful requests”.

The Home Minister says the placement of cops at petrol stations near border areas will be reviewed once the global energy crisis ends.  

The Cabinet issued the directive recently to help prevent cases of fuel smuggling.  

Meanwhile, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry says the move involves around 80 petrol stations.

Meanwhile the NGO, the Kelantan People’s Action Council says there must be a permanent police presence at border-area petrol stations.

However, it must be planned carefully to avoid inconveniencing legitimate customers.

Authorities are stepping up their manhunt for a remand detainee who recently escaped from the Sungai Buloh prison.  

Police say in addition to heightened land and air searches, cops have also increased their monitoring of border areas to ensure he doesn’t flee the country.  

The suspect, who is on trial for child sexual offences and immigration violations, escaped on Thursday.  

Cops add that public safety remains intact, but people must stay vigilant and not take anything for granted.

Police have arrested a private university student, who allegedly attacked and severly injured a woman at an apartment in Sepang on Friday.
