Kids, the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions are being urged to take extra precautions amid the haze situation, especially in severely affected states like Sarawak.
Prof. Datuk Dr. Syed Mohamed Aljunid Syed Junid, a public health expert from IMU University told Astro Awani this includes limiting exposure to polluted air and wearing the proper N95 face masks
He says we should also be alert for the early symptoms of haze-related illnesses such as respiratory infections and skin irritation…which can worsen if not treated early.
In a related development, the Health Ministry says it is closely monitoring any increase in respiratory infections and conjunctivitis cases in Sarawak due to the haze.
