
Expect subsidized petrol prices to remain the same for the time being.
The Prime Minister says the price of BUDI95 petrol will remain at RM1.99 despite the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
He explained that it's because Malaysia has enough fuel in our stockpiles to last until at least May.
The PM also says the govt will be more prudent in its spending, due to the economic impact of the Middle East conflict.
Among other things, govt agencies and government-linked companies won’t hold any open house events for Aidilfitri.
He has also instructed ministers and government officials to reduce foreign travel.
According to Datuk Seri Anwar, the only exception is for essential overseas trips where their attendance is compulsory.

Speaking of Aidilfitri...preparations for Raya are in full swing.
For starters, the Education Ministry has announced that March 18th will be declared an additional holiday for government schools nationwide.
Meanwhile, all 345 educational institutions under MARA will also receive an additional holiday in conjunction with the festive season.

And Kelantan has ordered all shopping malls and supermarkets in the state to fully close operations on the first day of Aidilfitri, to allow workers to spend time with their families.
However, convenience stores and fast-food outlets there will only be closed until 1pm.
