AKPS Wants More Protection For Its Officers

The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) says it needs more protection following the attempted shooting of one of its commanders in Kedah yesterday. 

Its director-general says he’ll be putting in a request for firearms and bulletproof vests for his officers to carry out their duties safely. 

The Agency is also looking into the possibility of appointing bodyguards for its top officers, especially those serving in high-risk locations.

The Religious Affairs Ministry is calling on Muslims and non-Muslims alike to be mindful of the sanctity of Ramadan.

This, following a recent viral video where a woman was seen drinking openly during a TikTok livestream, which was seen as disrespectful towards those who were fasting.

The Johor Palace is warning about a series of fake videos being circulated on social media, featuring AI-generated clips impersonating His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.

This comes just a day after the Pahang Palace issued a similar warning about fake clips of the Pahang ruler, which were also produced using artificial intelligence.
