
7 people, including a foreign woman have been arrested to help investigate the recent shooting attack targeting a Border Control and Protection Agency officer in Kedah.
State police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah says four of the suspects have prior records for crimes including smuggling and murder.
The AKPS commander escaped unhurt after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry says it's ready to give additional assets to AKPS personnel, to better defend themselves.

Three Palapes officers have been charged in court over the death of cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin last year.
All three pleaded not guilty to a charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, at the Kota Tinggi Sessions Court in Johor.
If they're convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a fine.

The family of an Indian national who disappeared in the Jalan Masjid India sinkhole incident in 2024 are urging authorities have her officially declared dead.
Their lawyer says the family needs a death certificate to proceed with legal formalities, but one has not been issued yet as she is still listed as missing,

The independent committee investigating the allegations against the MACC is currently finalizing its probe.
Govt spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil says the committee, headed by the Attorney General, is expected to submit its report next week.
The Cabinet will examine the report before deciding on the next course of action.
This includes whether to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry.
