FAM Disappointed With CAS Ruling

The FAM says it’s disappointed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to dismiss its appeal over the player naturalization issue.

It says that while it respects the court’s jurisdiction, it feels that the punishment is disproportionate compared to similar cases in the past.

The FAM will also wait for the full written judgement before commenting further on the matter.

This, after the CAS ruled that the seven Harimau Malaya players who falsified naturalization documents, will still have to serve their 12-month ban, but only for official matches.

It also completely dismissed the Malaysian governing body’s appeal against its 1.8 million ringgit fine.
