The Asian Football Confederation has dealt the FAM a huge double blow.
The AFC has ruled that the Malaysian body violated the disciplinary and ethics code for fielding ineligible players for two 2027 Asian Cup qualifying matches.
As such, both results have been overturned with Harimau Malaya being handed 3 – nil defeats for both matches...which they had initially won during the qualifiers.
In addition to the forfeited results, the association has also been slapped with a nearly 200 thousand ringgit fine.
However, the FAM says it will formally request a detailed explanation from the confederation before deciding on their next course of action.

Kylian Mbappe is ready to return from injury.
Real Madrid say the Frenchman will be in action as they aim to eliminate Man City in their Champions League last-16 second leg tomorrow morning.
Mbappe was sidelined by a knee injury during their 3 – nil win in the first leg last week.
However, midfielder Jude Bellingham is not so lucky.
Although he's travelling with the Los Blancos squad and has stepped up his recovery from a hamstring problem, he's not yet ready to feature against City.

And in F1 news...Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has played down talks of a World Championship for driver Kimi Antonelli.
He says it's still too early for the 19-year-old to even think of the title, adding that he needs to grow further first without excessive pressure.
This, after the Italian driver became the second-youngest race winner in F1 history over the weekend after taking his maiden victory at the Chinese Grand Prix.
