Malaysia’s healthcare system comprises of well-trained medical staff and excellent hospital facilities.

The improvement in our healthcare system over the last ten years has been significant, and on par with other well-developed countries.

To support this statement, Malaysia scored 95 out of 100 and takes the first spot as the ‘Best Healthcare’ under the ‘World’ category of the 2019 International Living Global Retirement Index.

The ranking is followed by France, Thailand, Ecuador and Costa Rice (tie) & Mexico (tie).

Here’s why Malaysia has made it to the first spot:

1. We provide world-class healthcare services!

Hospitals provide comprehensive therapy for patients with various neurological problems such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and neuromuscular conditions.

2. Majority of our doctors are trained in United Kingdom, United States and Australia!

Almost every local doctor in Malaysia is fluent in English and the communication process is made to assist everyone.

3. Both private and public hospitals provide specialist services.

Our patients can choose whichever hospital suits their needs without compromising over quality. Moreover, you don’t need an appointment to see a specialist or need a referral from a General Practitioner (GP). You can start registering at a hospital of your choice and be in the line to see the specialist of your choice.

4. The prescription costs are affordable!

The treatment and prescription cost a fraction of what you would pay at private hospitals.

5. Friendly service!
Last but not the least, Malaysian doctors and pharmacists are known to be friendly with their patients and their genuine interest and care for patients really impresses everyone.

Well done, Malaysia!
